Lucky Stripes Blanket

 

I call this blanket Lucky Stripes because I was lucky to receive a large container of  beautiful yarn, just by chance. I was in the hospital get a procedure done and I  was talking to the nurse about Project Linus and how much l  like to make blankets. The nurse couldn’t believe her luck as she  had been driving around for a few days with a Rubbermaid container full of yarn, and she wanted to find someone who could put the yarn to good use. I truly believe that things  happen for a reason. 48×52

Tulip Blanket

 

This is a very sweet cheerful  spring inspired blanket that l just finished today. Cute popcorn stitch trim on a corner to corner rectangle blanket.  l think a little girl should love. 43×50

Fishy Blanket

 

I have been working on a few crochet projects  and have this cute blanket finished, just in time for Easter.     Fishy blanket was a fun  blanket to make, adding  sweet little appliques to a conner to corner blanket with a “V” stitch trim. 48×54…

Peppermint Blanket

 

 

The Peppermint blanket is my first blanket of 2016 for Project Linus and is  named after all the cool minty colors. I received a nice bag of all the same brand yarn from a friend of mine , so it was very easy to get the idea.  The blanket is a simple corner to corner rectangle pattern, and the trim is one row of single crochet, the next row is a V stitch and then finished off with a row of single crochet. I love how it looks. 52×45

Cozy Blanket

Here is another blanket my sister made before she left, out of  scraps that were left over from my donated yarn stash. It’s a small blanket but I’m sure it will be cozy for small child. 37×37

A few days ago I received this  heartfelt thank-you note from a little girls mother that had been hospitalized. I was touched that she took the time to pass this note on to me and say how much they cherish the blanket. This little note  makes every single crochet stitch in every blanket, more than worth it. ❤

Class of October 2015

“The Class of October 2015” are the result of a very rainy October. These comfort  dolls are  given out with a small blanket for  a sick child from my Project Linus chapter. My sister, husband and I had a lot of laughs making these cute dolls, that will give comfort to a small child. Can you guess what doll was the first one?

Here is another  corner to corner blanket that my sister made for Project Linus while visiting me. The edging for this blanket is really cute and fun to do. The pattern is Elephant’s on Parade  and is very easy. 48×48

Snuggly Blanket

Here is a cute snuggly warm blanket, for  a small child. I find it hard to believe that it is just about two years, that l have been crocheting blankets for  Project Linus  . Time sure does fly when you are doing something that you are passionate about, I  really enjoy making the blankets for children. 48×48
