My father just turned 96 this year, I thought a new blanket would make his day. This is a nice soft cozy blanket using mostly Caron simply soft yarn. Can’t wait to see his face when l give it to him. ❤

Lucky Stripes Blanket
I call this blanket Lucky Stripes because I was lucky to receive a large container of beautiful yarn, just by chance. I was in the hospital get a procedure done and I was talking to the nurse about Project Linus and how much l like to make blankets. The nurse couldn’t believe her luck as she had been driving around for a few days with a Rubbermaid container full of yarn, and she wanted to find someone who could put the yarn to good use. I truly believe that things happen for a reason. 48×52

Peppermint Blanket
The Peppermint blanket is my first blanket of 2016 for Project Linus and is named after all the cool minty colors. I received a nice bag of all the same brand yarn from a friend of mine , so it was very easy to get the idea. The blanket is a simple corner to corner rectangle pattern, and the trim is one row of single crochet, the next row is a V stitch and then finished off with a row of single crochet. I love how it looks. 52×45

“The Class of October 2015” are the result of a very rainy October. These comfort dolls are given out with a small blanket for a sick child from my Project Linus chapter. My sister, husband and I had a lot of laughs making these cute dolls, that will give comfort to a small child. Can you guess what doll was the first one?
