My father just turned 96 this year, I thought a new blanket would make his day. This is a nice soft cozy blanket using mostly Caron simply soft yarn. Can’t wait to see his face when l give it to him. ❤
I have decided to repost as July 4th is just around the corner and have a bit of an update about this blanket. I normally have no idea where the blankets go, this time is a bit different. Camp Corral is camp for children of wounded, disabled or fallen military parents, that is sponsored by Golden Corral Restaurants, the camps taking place all over the US. The next one in NC is July 6th in King, NC. They expect 250 children. I am thrilled that I was able to contribute and feel enlightened to know where the blanket has been sent too.
I received a generous donation of red yarn a few weeks ago and decided to make a blanket to honor July 4th. This blanket is larger (50×50) then most of the blankets I have made for Project Linus, suitable for an older child or teen. A simple large granny square, with a finishing picot stitch to represent the stars on the flag. I didn’t plan it this way but finished just in time for Flag Day, just an added bonus! Happy Flag Day!
